Santis is Switzerland's most well known local whisky. Hailing from the Appenzell alps each whisky is matured in ancient beer or wine barrels which are more than 130 years old to impart wonderful aromas to the whisky. This particular edition is aged in small oak beer barrels first then moved into various wine casks before they are blended. This intriguing whisky first seems light and fruity however, layers of lingering spice and wood opens up with hints of cocoa and berry and ginger aromas with each sip.
