The Happy Winemaker By Jean-Paul Trijsburg
Jean-Paul started his career in Burgundy, France in 2007 picking grapes but within a week his passion shun through and he was working in the winery. This lead to him staying in Burgundy and studying wine and then worked his way around Germany, Spain, Chile, South Africa and Australia, learning lots about the native varieties and unique winemaking techniques in each country.
After the arrival of his second son (future Happy Winemaker cellarhand) he decided to settle down in Ballarat and leases a beautiful vineyard where he grows a mixture of varieties.
With a big focus on making wine that is true to their variety and origin, he aims to create showcases of high quality grapes and always keeping things in their simplest and purest form. Always using the more natural approach with indigenous yeasts, minimal sulfur and never filtering, he creates very honest wines that represent their respective regions.
These wines always put a smile on our faces and sure they will for you as well.
