Grenache
Paul Osicka
Heathcote
Red Varietal - Medium
Australia

Description

From Paul Osicka’s small bush vine Grenache planting, perched on a sandy hill with that signature red orange clay, this is a wine that speaks of its site and care. After 8 months in seasoned oak, it’s a real beauty. A dark red core with subtle black edges, it offers an aromatic kick—red raspberry, cherry, and red liquorice jumping from the glass, with just a touch of fresh herbs, scorched earth, vanillin spice, and pepper adding intrigue. The palate follows through with juicy, ripe raspberry, cherry, and liquorice, all wrapped in a velvety texture and serious intensity. Beneath it all, crushed rock, pepper, and herbs add complexity. It’s vibrant, with silky tannins and a long, succulent finish that begs you for another sip. Drink over the next 5-6 years, but it’s tough to wait that long!
