In their Grenache/Shiraz blend, Paralian have created a quintessential McLaren Vale wine. The Grenache and Shiraz components were made separately before blending, thus preserving the unique characteristics of each.

These characteristics were preserved well, as this wine has a little bit of everything. The Grenache brings juicy, tart raspberry to the palate and a floral bouquet to the nose. The Shiraz offsets this nicely, bringing earthier flavours and a few hints of blackberry and chocolate to the palate, and some spice on the nose. All this is structure by lashes of citrus acidity and strong tannins. A perfect McLaren Vale snapshot.
