Description

Diletto is the exciting new label from Giant Steps' Melanie Chester and Mulline's Ben Mullen. The name means 'to take pleasure' in Italian, inspired by the pair's mutual enjoyment of Syrah.

The grapes were sourced from the Grampians-based, 1969-planted Westgate vineyard, and were aged for 9 months in French barriques.

The result is a deep crimson purple wine laden with complex aromatics of fragrant herbs, dried flowers, dark fruits and a touch of graphite. Lashings of graphite carry across to the palate, accompanying blue and dark fruits and hints of spice. Tannins are persistent and supple, shaped and balanced by bright acidity. Fragrant and excellent!
